Tea With Lisa
Lisa is our wonderful courier driver who collects your parcels from us each day. On particularly busy days, to make sure all the orders make her collection, we’ll stall and make her a BIG mug of her favourite tea. Always keen to chat, we asked Lisa some questions... while she kindly waited for the orders to be ready.
Hi Lisa, can you tell us a little bit about yourself please?
I was born and raised in Tauranga and travelled for around 5 years in which time I had many interesting and varied jobs, including being a roofer in the U.S. Aside from that much of my working life in NZ has been with NZ Post doing every role imaginable.
I have 4 amazing sisters who are my greatest supporters. I’m obsessed with horses, horse riding and also love motorbikes/dirtbikes.
I hear that it’s like an animal farm at your house, can you run us through them all?
So, I have 2 cats, 3 dogs, 14 chickens - one favourite I called Gerrilene - 2 mini horses, 2 ponies, a big warmblood (horse) and until recently I had Rambo the ram, Spicy the goat, and a Kunekune pig.
It is well known as the Funny Farm.
Do you have a favourite animal?
I mentioned the newest addition, Gerrilene, she’s a hot favourite.
Spicy the goat was a character too. He got in my friends car one day, with her in it. He started pulling her by the hair and wouldn’t let go! We would also often find him on visitors car bonnets and he used to scare me to death peering in the kitchen window at night - he was swiftly banned to the paddock after all of that!
When did you start drinking tea?
I have special memories of making my mum tea and toast in bed since I was little. I always made milky tea and she would say, ‘would you like tea with your milk?’.
At home I always select the largest cup I can find, first thing at 4am, before any coffee can be drunk. I love Webster’s Cafe Breakfast and Chai tea.
If you could have tea with anyone who would it be and why?
My mum again. Just to have those special moments back.
Thanks Lisa! We look forward to the chats and seeing you each day.
